ABOUT CUREFEST

Bringing The Childhood Cancer Community Together To Create One Voice

CureFest’s mission is to make childhood cancer research a national priority by uniting the childhood cancer community, the general public, the medical community and our elected leaders as one voice against childhood cancer.

CureFest is a 'trade show like' approach where various organizations/foundations related to childhood cancer get together in a public place. Each CureFest event across Canada will be unique in its own way and all CureFest events will be an expression of shared values and purpose:

  • Fulfill CureFest's mission
  • Recognize that each participating organization/foundation is doing its part in its own way for the good of the cause
  • Come together as a common voice helps all of us achieve our goals

Whether attending CureFest as a family or individual, registering as a CureFest exhibitor, becoming a sponsor of the event, or volunteering at the event, you can help raise much needed awareness by contributing to one voice for all children with cancer!

Feel free to contact us if you have any questions about CureFest Canada!

Childhood cancer is dramatically underfunded.

Yes, fewer children get cancer compared to adults but the loss of potential life years along with the high incidence of secondary cancer and other severe ailments caused by initial cancer treatments demand that more must be done. Pediatric cancer research by pharmaceutical companies is not a profitable business plan.

In the US, where by far the bulk of research occurs, less than 4% of health research funds from government are aimed at pediatric cancer.  In Canada, we have recently reached 5%.
